Wow: Actress Genevieve Nnaji Is Richer Than Psquare And D'banj..

 
Actress Genevieve Nnaji has been named the richest celebrity in Nigeria. The Nollywood actress came on top of the recently released Vanguard's Richest Celebrity List of 2014 with a net worth of N220 million from endorsements alone.


The former Face of LUX has been signing too many deals with multi- national companies for the past year including Etisalat, Amstel Malta, Range Rover Envogue and MUD Cosmetics. Despite missing out from the 'infamou's Glo Ambassadorial list, Genevieve beats big names like Iyanya » in second place with N151 million, music group Psquare » who came in third with N140million, Wizkid » at number four with N101 million and D'banj » who occupied fifth place with N100million.

1. Genevieve Nnaji: N220 Million Genevieve Nnaji is representing or has represented brands like Lux, Cintrion Energy drink, Range Rover Evogue, Etisalat, Polo and Amstel Malta. The Etisalat deal alone earned her N100 million. Her deal with Polo is in the region of N70 while the Cintrion drink rakes in N50 million for the actress.


2. Iyanya -N151 million Iyanya’s endorsement deal with MTN is worth N60 million. He has a $350,000 endorsement deal with Zinox computers and a N35 million deal with phone manufacturing company Solo Mobile.


3. P-Square N140 from Glo P-Square’s deal with GLO is said to be N140 million.


4. Wizkid – N101 million Wizkid’s deal with MTN is worth N45 million, his deal with Pepsi worth about $350,000. He also has an endorsement deal with Guinness.



5. D’Banj N100 million Dbanj’s deal with Glo is said to be worth N100 million


6. Don Jazzy – N75 million The Don Dorobucci gets paid nothing less than N50 Million from Loya Milk. He also has a N25 million deal from MTN.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg pledges $25 million to help fight Ebola

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has pledged $25 million (£15.7m) to help fight Ebola.

He and his wife, Priscilla Chan, are donating the sum to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Foundation and it will be used to fight the virus in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone and elsewhere in the world where Ebola is a threat.

‘We need to get Ebola under control in the near term so that it doesn’t spread further and become a long term global health crisis that we end up fighting for decades at large scale, like HIV or polio,’ Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post.

He added: ‘We believe our grant is the quickest way to empower the CDC and the experts in this field to prevent this outcome.’

The donation follows a $9m (5.7m) gift made by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen last month.

Zuckerberg, who is worth an estimated $32 billion (£21b), is making the grant from his fund at the nonprofit Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

PROF. OSASERE ORUMWENSE APPOINTED NEW VICE CHANCELLOR OF UNIBEN

                 

The vice chancellor of the university of Benin has handed over to A new Vice Chancellor who has been appointed for the University of Benin. He is Professor Osasere Orumwense. Professor Orumwense was born on twentieth June, 1954.

You will recall that he attended Western Boys High School, Benin City for his Post Primary Education, and obtained his National Diploma in Civil Engineering from the then Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi in 1975.
Thereafter, he proceeded to England, United Kingdom, where he obtained his undergraduate and Post-graduate degrees from University of Staffordshire and the University of Leeds.
Meanwhile, Professor Orumwense who had the rare privilege of having obtained his National Diploma and all his degrees as recipient of Federal Government scholarship, is happily married with children.
Reports says that the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor which takes effect from first of December, 2014 was made by the Governing Council of the University led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Senator Dickson Bob.
